Thread: HxC Floppy Emulator with Tatung Einstein not working...

the floppy cable is the correct way around is it? do the jumpers need changing to DF0 or DF1 or whatever the tatung uses?

try a different floppy ribbon ?

I assume so unless anyone knows differently. The cable should be fine as I was using it this morning on the Micro. Here's some more photos.

Sorry Mike, I meant the HxC and cable all worked on the BBC Model B this morning. This is the first time I've tried it on the Tatung Einstein. Bas refurbished the Tatung before I received it so it must be something I am doing...

The HXC must be set to drive 1 my friend... I know this from experience..

The only way you can run it as drive 0 is if you temporarily unplug the 34way cable from the internal drive to the motherboard....easy to do

You should be able to execute the files directly off drive1..

Boot xtal dos..and type
DIR 1:
should list the files on your HXC

Then load them as follows, type...
1:invaders

Or whatever the file is named..

If you have changed the settings on the hxc so it appears as drive 1 then I feel that should be enough.

In order to convert some discs from 3.5" to 3", I connected my beebs's external 3.5" drive to the rear connector. I had the same issue as you then in that both drives, internal and external, responded as drive 0. I had to set the jumper on my external drive to id=1 in order for them to operate independantly and correctly.

Now the Tatung uses the WD1770 disc controller which is the same as the BBC Master and the Pres interface so hopefully the HXc shouldnt need any further settings to change.
