The Tatung Einstein

Tatung Einstein Music

Introduction

The Einstein TC-01 uses a General Instrument AY-3-8910 Programmable Sound Generator (PSG), the AY-3-8910 is capable of generating 3 "voices" and can produce some good quality sounds and music. Various versions of the AY-3-8910 were used in arcade machines and a range of home computers, including, in addition to the Einstein, the Amstrad CPC, MSX and ZX Spectrum 128/+2/+3.

The popularity of the chip means that there are a wide range of music files that have been created for it and a range of players written to playback the files on different computers. Charlie Robson (SirMorris) has created a PT3 player for the Einstein, hosted with Charlie's permission, you can download the player and a range of audio files from this page.
