| Message | Hi, I never had an Einstein but it seems to be a very nice machine. Keep up the great work in keeping alive the retro computing of yesteryear as so many people nowadays (younger group) don't have a clue what came before them and perhaps they'll come across this site and marvel. For my part, I'm a Beeb owner but love retro of all types and am impressed with the efforts of those such as yourself to keep alive the history of computing in a way that is both entertaining and can also allow others to actually experience that historical 'feel' by using an emulator. | Message | Hi there. I was wondering if you could help me. I had an Einstein computer when I was a kid and loved it. There was a game I used to always play but I can't remember what it was called. It was a platform game tha involved you controlling a little alien collection parts for a ship I think as well as verious power ups. You could bounce along and you had like a spring to get to higher platforms and different screens. It was awesome! I think it was called "Star something" if you could help me remember the name of it, that would be awesome!! THANKS!!  |

| Message | The Einstein was my first computer. The first game I purchased was called The Island of Artuan (not sure of the spelling). I was really impressed with it. The only downside for me was that a couple of weeks after purchasing it (for £500), it was reduced to £250. I've got a lot of fond memories of it. One of my lecturers at Salford university a Dr Goode also had one of these which she used for her lecture notes and a data base program that she'd written herself. |

| Message | In the 1980's I was the Senior Buyer at Dixons Stores Group and bought the entire stock of Einstein's from Tatung in Telford for retail through the stores. The computer despite its merits did not sell well for Tatung .Hence it became a "Dixons Scoop" with a planned sell out £199... it flew out of the stores and sold out in a very short time..... Dixons was all about making computers affordable for customers .... I also recall buying the first IBM branded "home pc" after weeks of trying to convince IBM there was a market for a branded computer..They didnt beleive it !!! The build quality of the Einstein was excellent as our pre purchase quality tests proved...pity The Essex cowboys didnt follow the quality lead with their Amstrad home offerings... The actual deal negotiation with Tatung took place in a 7 hour meeting with them at Telford with Dr Chu the senior Director finally agreeing the deal at 8.00 pm at night. Within 3 days their entire stock was in Dixons distribution warehouse in Stevenage awaiting distribution to the stores with newspaper advertising geared for the Saturday... |

| Message | Hi, I have just aquired a TC01 with TK02 80-column monochrome card. many thanks for a tremendous job with your web site; it provides a truly valuable resource. I wonder if there is a better scan of the main circuit diagrams on pages 33 and 34 of the hardware Manual pdf file. As, on the right, the left page is very faded and the right page has been clipped. A multi-page scan would be a superb addition if that were possible. Regards, Mike |

| Message | I think I bought the only Tatung Einstein ever sold in Scotland. I also owned an Oric 1 and Oric 1 3" disk drive expander. I transferred the Oric 3" drive to the Einstein when the Oric disk controller went phut. Don't remember what happened to it, I think I gave it away. never got it to actually do anything much. |
