Where is it Manguan? Is it a stand alone speech synthesizer or something that now works with speech enabled games?

Just to clarify...
This is only a BIOS (extra file) and script update.
Only one homebrew game (Star Trek) and ABC on the speech disk uses it.
Star Trek crashed MAME if speech was attempted, and the basic was edited to make it work.
*The version marked BAD should work now.

Tried it with the (bad) rom and changed the gemus pairs, had to manually load xbasic and then type load"trek.xbs" it ran but once it got past the intructions screen it just froze.
Are you sure the download link has the latest update?

OK got it to run with speech, I'm assuming there is some kind autorun script file on the disk that is referencing an unknown file as it comes back with "No File error in 0", typing RUN"L" then starts the game.

It's a MAME v192+ bug.
Since the disk drive driver for protected disks was updated in MAME.
The drive doesn't get reset after loading one file. in this case XBAS.
The drive motor is in limbo or still spinning when looking for the game file "L.XBS".
So it fails, even typing DIR will fail at this point.
Once the error is triggered, the drive gets reset and RUN"L" will work.

If you load the disk with emu=XBS, it will auto boot without the error.
But speech isn't emulated in that version.

We are just lucky there arn't many multi-file games that need speech or joystick control.
so loading can be automatic with at least one of the emulators provided.
