I am glad there are still people out there that remember the Tatung Einstein. I think it's a great computer, so many memories! I first got mine when I was 8. Still have it now, and I built up a pretty good collection of games. Admin, you wanted a list, I'll give you one! Here's a list of games I know of, quite a few I have.

Great! You get a karma point for that!

Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE that these games exist, I mean do you actualy own them, or are they just games you heard about?

I ask because as I said above I'm trying to do this from a precautionary point of view, I only add a game if I have some evidence to say it existed.

I also used to have a speech synthesiser box for the einstein, and also something called "The Speculator" which allowed you to play selected Spectrum games on your Einstein.

Ahh, so they DID make it then? Yeah, there was an article about it in an old edition of Crash.

I still enjoy playing titles such as "Time Trap" and "Space Trap" to this day. If anybody wants any more info, let me know. Great to discuss this classic machine!

Well, feel free to start some threads here! This seems to be the only Einstein board on the internet...

It's a good list eh! Yes, these games do exist. Proving it will take longer Smiley

I have 23 titles from the list. I have pictures I have taken of them which I can send you via email (need an address) to prove their existence. The others will be harder! I used to have an old Einstein catalogue with all the titles listed, I'll see if I can still find it.

In fact, I have a contact who could get a hold of any of those titles in my list even to this day, I'll see if he can get me a list.

Yes, the Speculator cost £50 and allowed me to play 12 selected Spectrum titles on the Einstein, I can remember just two of them, which were "The Hobbit" and I think "Atic Atac". Happy days  Grin I can't believe I through it away. What an idiot!

I'll post my own thread here shortly, see if anybody wants to talk more about the Einstein  Wink

The pictures would be great, I'll give you an address to send them to in a private message on here.

Catalogues aren't always reliable though, especially for machines that never really took off. They give clues for what to look for, but don't really confirm anything's existence. I've seen plenty of modern games I know for a fact were cancelled but are still on offer on sites that can't be bothered to update their catalogues.

Hmm... is this an "einstein scene"? Is there even an einstein scene?

Wouldn't it have been better to just buy a Spectrum though? That way you could have played way more than 12 games!

I'll see what I can do for you Dasse, those shouldn't be a problem to find. I'm not sure if I can get them with their original covers, but we'll see.  Grin

I've made contact with him today, just waiting to hear if he can get it. Fingers crossed!   Roll Eyes

How big is your collection Dasse? Do you have a lot of games also? I am also a collector, just because they are so rare to get in original condition eh. Some are still a good laugh to play as well  Grin

There's a guy on ebay, he goes by the username of "richardburton". I know for a fact he has Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy originals. I know he has Jet Set Willy because I sold it to him! Should have kept a hold of it  Angry

I don't know if he will part with his Manic Miner, but if I can't help you, maybe he can be "Bought"?  Wink

I should be hearing from my guy shortly, so we'll see.

Can I just remind EVERYONE who uses Ebay and other online sales sites to be very careful when buying or selling stuff. Not everyone is who they say they are.

I appreciate what you are saying Admin.

However, I have always dealt carefully with ebay. I am dealing with the original supplier of Einstein software for Dasse's request.

It wasn't targetted in any way at you personally, I say that same message every time anyone discusses ebay stuff on here.  Smiley

I know Richard Burton, and i dont think he will sell any of his Manic Miner or Jet Set Willy games.. if of course he dont have more than one of some game.
I have only 20 different  "willy" games for the moment.. but i know Richard has at lest twice as much!  Tongue

Yeah, it's weird that ebay is so successful but it has almost no competitors. I think they keep buying them as soon as they're a threat. You'd think Microsoft or Amazon or someone would start their own proper ebay site.
