TATUNG EINSTEIN TC01 COMPUTER WITH TATUNG TM01 MONITOR
This is a vintage Tatung Einstein computer complete with its TM01 Monitor. The unit has been carefully cleaned and apart from some slight yellowing on the bottom half of the casing, it looks very clean and fresh for its age. Its spent the past few years in a dry loft and powered up first time with no problems. The board has not been re-capped so this may be something to be done in the future to preserve its operation! I don't have any software to test the computer with, but the disk drives respond to commands and appear to work, but I can't guarantee they are fully working. Please bear this in mind when bidding! The monitor powers up, but only displays shades of green so I suspect this may need some attention. It is a colour monitor, but obviously something is wrong with it after all these years. I connected the RF up to a standard UHF TV and got the correct blue screen (please see photos!) If you're looking at this auction, you know what this item is, so I am not going too list the specification. This is a bit of computing history, made in 1984, designed in Bradford and built in Shropshire! Brilliant old piece of retro computing history, in very good condition. I won't ship this item as its too heavy and I don't want it getting broken, so collection only please from Redditch, UK. We are near the M5 / M42 split. Do not ask me to ship ok?! Please ask me if you have any questions! Thanks for looking. |
