Q: Hi, do you have a picture of the serial number sticker? A: Hi Mike, There’s no serial number sticker or label on the case and only the BC022 label on the motherboard with the date. The inside of the lid says a BS 1/27 which suggests there are 27 of these made and this is 22. Cheers, Gray. Q: Also, what is the red eprom in the second rom socket and the daughter board where the i/o chips should be! Was this your machine form the start or did you acquire it from somewhere else? Sorry for so many questions, but there is not much info on the early days of the einstein. I have a machine with a serial number in the low 6000s and have only seen a few really low numbered machines in the last few years (147 is the lowest I have found so far) A: Hi Mike, I wasn’t on the design team, my involvement was the 9129 video processor so I can only guess the eprom was BIOS and the daughter board RAM expansion. I understand there were previous prototype versions and this was the first type in the definitive case. They were still tweaking the spec at the stage this board was produced and this particular machine was used for the early game development. No it wasn’t my machine from the start, I acquired it from the software team when they’d finished with it. Cheers, Gray Oh wow, thanks for that. This is the most information I have received on these machines. If I had the money I would have bought this for history's sake. There are not many of these machines left now. :)
